A Step Towards Financial Inclusion at Yangang Campus
Sikkim University marked another important milestone with the inauguration of the Yangang Branch of Canara Bank by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Santanu Kumar Swain.
The inauguration took place in the gracious presence of A. K. Mishra, General Manager, Canara Bank.
Addressing the gathering, the Vice-Chancellor highlighted that the new bank branch would greatly benefit students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding local community by ensuring easy access to essential banking services. He emphasized that the presence of Canara Bank at Yangang will promote financial inclusion, support scholarships and stipends, enable smooth digital and cashless transactions, and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the region.
The initiative reflects Sikkim University’s continued commitment to strengthening campus infrastructure while fostering community engagement and inclusive growth.
