Sikkim University proudly joined the nation in commemorating 150 years of India’s national song – Vande Mataram, penned by the great Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1875.

The celebration was marked by inspiring speeches, cultural performances, and a collective rendition of Vande Mataram by students and faculty, echoing a deep sense of patriotism and unity.

Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor,Prof. Santanu Kumar Swain addressed the gathering, reflecting on the timeless significance of Vande Mataram in India’s journey of nation-building and emphasizing the role of language, literature, and culture in strengthening national identity.

Let us continue to cherish our heritage and uphold the spirit of Vande Mataram — “I bow to thee, Mother.”
